The TVET STEPS represents a comprehensive approach to looking at Technical and Vocational Education and Training from an academic perspective.

The STEPS, short for Skills Training and Education Progression Sequence, is a Framework/Continuum conceived to dissect and understand the packages of TVET as a comprehensive learning episode. It serves as a tool to evaluate how educational providers design and focus their vocational training programs. By outlining the specific stages of TVET learning—from initial skill acquisition to advanced specialization—the framework helps clarify the intent and execution of TVET strategies by various institutions.

The TVET STEPS encompasses of four distinct points in a TVET continuum:

  • SkillsFirst,

  • SkillsFusion,

  • SkillsForward, and

  • SkillsAdapt

Each step of the above will have its own objectives and approach. Focusing on them will be our next priority. In a Nutshell, The TVET STEPS are composed as below, indicating three main points of contact students can experience TVET learning. Then there is the fourth point of contact, this is a perennial point of contact for students wiling to excel continuously.

The STEPS, illustrated below, offers a tailored educational journey for individuals at various stages of their career development. From foundational hands-on skills to advanced research and continuous adaptability, the STEPS ensures learners acquire the necessary competencies to thrive in rapidly changing industries. Emphasizing a blend of practical experience and theoretical knowledge, the STEPS prepares individuals for immediate workforce entry, ongoing career advancement, and lifelong learning:
