Seven siblings, seven names to remember especially if you are going abroad to talk about “TVET”. Across the globe, TVET is being called by several other names. Each have a slightly different focus and this makes their objectives different.
These terms reflect regional preferences and slight variations in focus—some emphasize the vocational aspect, others the technical, and yet others the linkage to career pathways. Despite these differences, they all share a common goal: to equip learners with the skills necessary for employment and to meet the needs of the workforce in various industries. Understanding these terms is crucial for global collaboration and knowledge exchange in the field of vocational and technical education. I’m sure there are more than this.
